Actually Moving Forward

I packaged up the test knitting stuff and sent it off to the first of my three test knitters yesterday. I included some temporary Guest Book pages, the knitting instructions with photos, and a two link beginning chain. Unfortunately, just this morning--read: after I sent the package--I finally solved my Guest Book problem. I couldn't figure out what to do for a Guest Book, because what's mailed can't be too heavy and needs to be pages that can be added to the actual Guest Book upon returning home to me so that everyone is in the same Guest Book instead of having a bunch of different ones. I didn't want to just do binder paper in a binder or folder, and my first thought had been a day planner or similar. It would be medium sized, attractive, sturdy, and since somewhere in this house I have a DayRunner sized three hole punch, I could keep adding pages. But in all my looking, the only day planners that I could find had six rings, not three.

But this morning while I was at the grocery store waiting for a prescription to be filled, I was glancing at the index card boxes and it dawned on me: my index card wheel. I know Target is still stocking them, I almost bought a second one last time I was there but didn't have quite enough for it. They're only approximately $4, and they come in several colours. So all I have to do is buy several of the wheels in different colours, then I can send out a chunk of the cards with each starter package, probably on a ring so nothing gets misplaced in transit, and when they come home I transfer them back to their wheel.

Now I just need some money so I can go grab a bunch of them before they stop carrying them!
